15.1: What Are Your Predictions?




The Open…is practically here. In less than 48-hours, the world will know what this weekend’s workout, 15.1, entails.
 
What are your predictions?
 
Some athletes shared their thoughts (and hopes) here:
 
“I would love for 14.5 to come back! My prediction for 15.1 is 7 minutes of burpees.”
 
“My Open wish would be something like 14.4 all over again. Lots of muscle ups!!! I honestly think we could see 14.5 again. Seeing Rich and Mat going head to head would be sick!”
 
“An ideal workout for me would be a 15 minute Snatch/Muscle-Ups/ Handstand Pushup WOD. I'd love to see the addition of Handstand Pushups, especially with the team series events that included them.  For 15.1 though I have no real predictions, but rather I think we're going to see a form of Olympic lifting. To be 100% honest, I have no idea and just really looking forward to see what they have in store!”
 
“Something like 3 Muscle-ups, 6 Deadlifts, 9 Burpees. Not sure where this came from but with the new format I think he might throw a movement like a muscle-ups in right away and say, ‘If you can't do it, sorry.’”
 
“Obviously I would love to see anything heavy and high skilled. I would really like to see bar Muscle-Ups and Handstand Pushups this year. I think 15.1 will be a ladder similar to 13.1. A ladder of some sort of barbell movement and I'm hoping for a skill like a Muscle Up. Start with a bang!”
 
“An ideal WOD for me is an AMRAP in 5 minutes of sitting, haha.  BUT for my athletes: AMRAP in 6 min: 1 Squat Snatch (185/125) + 1 MU, 2+2, 3+3, etc. My prediction for 15.1 is an AMRAP in 8 min: 10 Snatch + 10 Burpee Over Bar + 8 + 8 +6 +6 +4 +4 +2+2 then Max Muscle-Ups in the remaining time and increasing load for snatches.”
 
“(1.) My ideal Open WOD would be Fran. Straight up; and (2.) I know better than to try to get inside Dave Castro's head; so I make it a point not to even think about what it *may* be!”
 
“My ideal Open workout would be something with a heavy-ish snatch working weight (preferably around 125#) and weighted pistols: 7minute EMOM! Ha ha.
I think 15.1 will be a chipper style workout with Wallballs, Snatches, Double-unders, and Muscle Ups...don't know what reps but I think they will start with something more skill based for the two fittest men in the world!”

“The Burgeron Beep Test?! My prediction though for 15.1: Clean & Jerks, plus maybe burpees or box jumps?”
