This past weekend, several American lifters traveled to Russia to compete in the Russian Federation President's Cup, an event tailored to light heavyweight and heavier weight classes. Here's how our American lifters did:

Men

Angelo Bianco finished 3rd in the 94kg weight class, although he weighed in at just a hair over 85kg, with a 145kg/320lb snatch, a 182kg/401lb clean & jerk and a 327kb total.

Wes Kitts finished 3rd in the 105kg weight class, snatching 170kg/375lb and clean & jerking 195kg/430lb for a 365kg total.

Ethan Harak also competed at 105kg and finished 4th with a 157kg/346lb snatch, a 192kg/424lb clean & jerk, and a 349kg total.

Donovan Ford competed as a super heavyweight (+105kg) but only weighed in at 108kg. He finished 8th, snatching 160kg/353lb and clean & jerking 203kg/448lb for a 363kg total.

Jason Starks also competed as a super heavyweight, but bombed out on the snatch. He only completed one successful lift, a 190kg/419lb clean & jerk.

Women

Jessica Phillips finished 3rd in the women's 75kg weight class with a 94kg/207lb snatch, a 110kg/242lb clean & jerk, and a 204kg total.

Rebecca Gerdon finished 4th in the women's 75kg weight class with a 91kg/200lb snatch, a 110kg/242lb clean & jerk, and a 201kg total.

Special shoutout to Johanie Filiatreault, a Canadian lifter who we first met at the 2015 AWF Nationals, for winning the women's 75kg weight class with a 102kg/225lb snatch and a 131kg/289lb clean & jerk!
