Mat Fraser doing Ben Smith things: taking the lead with less than 4 minutes to go, while finishing his 9th round.

Mat Fraser doing Emily Bridgers things: taking 1st in both Event 1 and Event 2.
On top of that, Fraser drops the mic by saying that not only is he not at 100% right now but that he didn’t think Day 1 was really up his alley and is looking forward to Days 2 and 3 as they’re more his cup of tea. Well then.
Rounding out the top five is a mix of Games vets and rookies. Canadian monsters Albert-Dominic Larouche and Alex Vigneault sit in second and third place respectively. Newcomer Chase Smith is ahead of Spencer Hendel and Nick Delgrande rounds out the top five.
Games veterans Paul Tremblay and Daniel Tyminski each had disappointing finishes in Event 2, tying for 23rd and dropping into 10th and 14th respectively. Each will likely have a better time in Day 2 than in Day 1 as their Games level engines carry them through the grinder that is moving day.
