What’s up with the live stream? What exactly does “exclusive coverage” mean? How about that Facebook Live yesterday? And what does rest of the week looks like at Senior Pan Ams? We hear the comments, questions, concerns, and compliments, and we have answers.

Is there a live stream?

There was no live stream planned for this event. Good live production is not simple, cheap, or quick and, behind the scenes, a lot of people spent a lot of time working to try and make it possible. The biggest reason why there isn’t a live stream is the multiple changes to the event venue; the actual competition venue is the third different venue between two different Colombian cities.

We didn’t cancel our live stream at the last minute, or succumb to technical issues, or become the victims of poor planning or preparation. We’ve been planning for and prepping for this event since it was announced (and was originally planned in Barranquilla, Colombia). When we couldn’t get any reliable info on where the event was taking place, we had to change our plans.

However, this isn’t just a Pan American Senior Championship, it’s a Pan American Senior Championship in an Olympic year. With that, it’s many countries’ last chances to send men and women to Rio. So given that we care about the sport as much as you do, no coverage was a definite non-starter. We have a small team down in Cartagena shooting a documentary on Team USA and the men’s competition for Rio and they were able to take equipment with them to at least film the event’s archives so we could put it up later.

On top of making a film about the team and their fight for one last shot at Rio and the archives, our team is working to keep people back home updated throughout the day on what’s happening on Colombia’s Caribbean Coast. FloElite has worked with the Pan American Senior Championship event director, the International Weightlifting Federation, and USA Weightlifting to bring you “exclusive coverage” of Senior Pan Ams.

What does “exclusive coverage” mean?

It means we provide the kind of coverage you won’t find anywhere else. From inside the training hall, to the athlete bus, to the platform, FloElite is there. We have video footage inside these normally inaccessible areas, athlete interviews, end of the day recaps, and more. Plus, all of the archived footage of the event.

What was up with the Facebook Live yesterday?

We thought we would give it a try- why not! We know you want to be here for all the action as much as we do. At the end of the day, we’re unable to stream the event live, the archived video footage isn’t being put up until the end of the day, and we’re working directly with the event, so why not have some fun along the way? We might be in the stands, we might be down by the coaches, we might be next to the platform, but wherever we are, we’ll try out different things to bring you the best coverage we can.

Will you do that everyday?

We may not use it in the same way each day. Full video archives of the event may be found here.

So if I thought it was going to be streamed live and I purchased a subscription, was that a waste?

Absolutely not. We have plenty of live events on the horizon: Giants Live USA: North American Open Championship, Kill Cliff Crush Games, Kill Cliff Granite Games, and more! We also have training videos and a library of the best elite fitness videos on the planet. Unmatched access to the highest levels of athletes in elite fitness, weightlifting, and strongman (Mattie Rogers, Donny Shankle, Noah Ohlsen, Julie Foucher… just to name a few). Coming soon- A brand new original FloFilm following the US Men’s Pan Ams team through 2016 Senior Pan Ams. Get pumped.

What we want to say is that FloElite is here! We hear what you have to say, and we aim to bring you the best coverage of the 2016 Pan American Senior Championships. While the event is unable to be streamed live (and had no plans to be), the archived video footage will all be here, and we may throw in some surprises on social media throughout the day. Make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat (Flo_Elite) so you don’t miss anything!
