Athletes arrived at the Ranch and were greeted with their first two event details. They will complete the first two events of the 2009 CrossFit Games, but in Games style- a more challenging version.

Event 1: "Ranch Trail Run"
  • For time:
    • 7k trail run

Event 2: "Ranch Deadlift Ladder"
  • 1 rep is performed every 30 seconds:
    1. 425/275lbs
    2. 435/285
    3. 445/295
    4. 455/305
    5. 465/315
    6. 475/325
    7. 485/335
    8. 495/345
    9. 505/355
    10. 515/365
    11. 525/370
    12. 535/375
    13. 545/380
    14. 555/385
    15. 565/390
    16. 575/395
    17. 585/400
    18. 595/405
    19. 605/410
    20. 615/415
There will be 10 minutes between the two events. This means, the first athlete finished with the run will have the most rest time. The last place finisher in the run will go first in the deadlift.
