Batman is awesome. I guess it's OK if you disagree, because everyone is entitled to their wrong opinions sometimes. No matter your opinion on The Caped Crusader, we can all agree on one thing: Batman's physical conditioning is a key factor in his success.
Bruce Wayne is a human who holds his own against superhumans, and is arguably the most effective hero of them all. So how does the Bat maximize his physicality to go toe-to-toe not only with normal bad guys, but also immortal assassins, aliens, and magicians?
In the recent film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," we got to see a rad training montage featuring Batman's badass training facility and his classic training methods.
So what can we learn from The Dark Knight's training?
Nearly everything Batman does there involves moving weight. He pulls a tire, pushes a sled, and squats heavy to hit multiple planes of movement with the simple objective of moving mass.
Moving weight is an important factor in becoming a badass. Ya gotta squat, push, and pull, and you should aim to move weight regularly.
Notice how Batman does strict, weighted pull-ups. This is key--strict and heavy pulling not only builds strength, but also builds durability. Full-range-of-motion pull-ups with added weight will improve the health of your shoulders and back (and also apparently make your abs hella jacked).
Of all the exercises The Detective does during his sweet training montage, only one involves a barbell: the squat. Even that wasn't a classic barbell squat in that he attached chains to add resistance and instability.
Check it out: He hammers and drags a tire, pushes a sled with like 900lb on it, uses fat dumbbells for benching, and generally just doesn't give a flying crap about "normal" implements. He probably also carries heavy sandbags, knows how to load a stone, and can toss a keg 50 feet into the air.
Simply put: be more like Batman and everything will be better.
