The Granite Games is more than a community event; it's a proving ground for some of the best CrossFitters in the world. The 2016 Granite Games will continue that tradition with a stacked men's AsRX/Pro division featuring former and future CrossFit Games athletes. Here's what their prep looks like:

ZA Anderson

ZA Anderson is part of the Anderson crew, which is arguably the fittest family in the world. ZA placed 10th at the 2010 CrossFit Games, and his brothers Alex and Jacob both competed at the 2016 CrossFit Games. ZA, the eldest of the Anderson Brothers, only recently returned to competing after dealing with a nerve issue in his back.

He took 12th at the Atlantic Regional this year, so he's clearly on the rebound and is looking to start his 2017 season off with a splash at the Granite Games against some epic competition.

Hunter Britt

Hunter Britt has been incredibly successful in the CrossFit Games' team competition. He took second in 2014 with Sam Dancer's CrossFit Conjugate Black, and competed at the 2015 and 2016 CrossFit Games with Invictus.

While Britt hasn't competed individually at Regionals, he's been edging his way closer to that milestone, and at 21, he's got plenty of time and room to improve.

Alan Foulis

Foulis, a former Rugby player in South Africa, competed at the Meridian Regional in 2016 after making a name for himself at the 2015 Granite Games. He's got the raw athleticism and training discipline to make huge improvements year over year, so I expect him to have a really good 2017 season.

Ryan Fischer

After serving a whereabouts-related sanction in 2015, Ryan Fischer returned to competing this year by placing 16th in the California Regional without really training for it. The former Olympic hopeful (in the skeleton!) has a huge engine, a love for suffering, and a couple of new training partners in Miranda Oldroyd and Julian Alcarez, who can push him to improve.

Gerald Sasser

Gerald Sasser has always been just one or two spots away from qualifying for the CrossFit Games, so there is no doubting his talent and conviction. Now that he's recovered from a shoulder issue, he's looking fit, healthy, and ready to take on the 2017 season after the Granite Games.
