Iran's superheavyweight phenom Behdad Salimi, the 2012 Olympic champion, has had a rough year. After tearing his ACL, he recovered enough to compete in Rio, where he set a world-record snatch at 216kg only to bomb out on the clean-and-jerk and go home empty handed.

But that hasn't stopped Salimi, who is still working hard and has plenty of competitive fire -- he proved that by nailing this 220kg snatch in training:
