Yesterday, USA Weightlifting (USAW) released the American record standards for the new women's 90kg weight class. Lifters who hit these standards will become the new U.S. record-holders in the recently established class.
The standards were announced ahead of next month's American Open Championships in Orlando, which will make USAW the first federation to provide this weight class in an International Weightlifting Federation (IWF)-sanctioned competition.
The IWF formally adopted the new weight category for women in October this year; now, there are eight weight classes for both men and women.
