Anaheim Will Host 2019 IWF Youth World Championships
Anaheim, California and USA Weightlifting will host the 2019 IWF Youth World Championships.
At the IWF Executive Board meeting taking place at the 2017 Junior World Championships, the IWF Board has announced the host cities for two major upcoming events: the 2019 Junior World Championships and the 2019 Youth World Championships.
The 2019 Junior World Championships will take place in Suva, Fiji. This will be the first time Fiji has hosted a World Championship.
Anaheim, CA is apparently a favorite spot for the IWF as the 2019 Youth World Championships have been allocated to Anaheim, which is currently the host for the 2017 IWF World Championships later this year. Anaheim is also part of Los Angeles' 2024 Olympic bid. According to the official announcement from the IWF, Anaheim is making a push to "become a regular host of IWF events."
