Breaking: Two Teams & An Individual Suspended From 2017 CrossFit Games
CrossFit HQ has just announced that three individuals have tested positive from drug tests at Regionals.

The three athletes are Nick Thomas (ostarine, a SARM) of CrossFit Marysville, OJ Washington (methylhexaneamine, stimulant) of  Bear Republic CrossFit, and Ryan Elrod (clomiphene, an anti-estrogen). All three individuals will be banned from competition for two years and both CrossFit Marysville and Bear Republic CrossFit are disqualified from competing at the Games this year.

OJ Washington, who tested positive for a stimulant called methylhexaneamine, says he took an over the counter pre workout supplement on the Friday of Regionals which contained this banned substance.

Ryan Elrod's situation is a little hazier. According to him, he was taking a prescribed fertility medication back in February and that the medication he was on is not on CrossFit's banned substance list.

Elrod, who works as a performer for Cirque du Soleil, was one of the oldest male Games athletes at 34 years old.

Update: Elrod has released an update to his previous statement. The drug he tested positive for is on CrossFit's banned substance list under "anti-estrogens."

The last suspension from CrossFit was for Trevor Bachmeyer, who thought he could submit a clearly edited video submission for his 17.5 Open workout.
