Chelsey Hughes and Carleen Mathews are both out of the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games.
The 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin, just got a little smaller on the women's side. After Camille Leblanc-Bazinet withdrew from the Games due to a shoulder injury, two more athletes have dropped out of the competition.
Chelsey Hughes, qualifier out of the East Regional, and Carleen Mathews from the West Regional, have been removed from the leaderboard.

Carleen Mathews has also shared further information behind her injury and withdrawal from the Games. Mathews says that she woke up last Wednesday with what felt like a knot in her back. After having it worked on she felt no relief and realized it may be her neck causing the problem. The problem escalated and by Friday she found herself unable to lock out her left arm and had a numb feeling throughout her arm.

Update
Chelsea Hughes has taken to her Instagram to share with fans why she decided to withdraw from competition. During the Cyclocross time trial Wednesday Hughes went over the handlebars of her bike and landed on the back of her neck. CT scans came back negative, but Hughes says she couldn't complete any muscle ups without feeling 'excruciating pain' in her neck and chest.[instagram url="https://www.instagram.com/p/BXXw61UDcAw/?taken-by=chelseych11" hide_caption="0"]
