"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." Mark Twain may as well have been talking about the CrossFit Games with that quote. Every sport has underdogs, and CrossFit is no different. Maybe they're looking for redemption, maybe they're finally on the cusp of making it, but no matter what these athletes are in it to win it whether people believe in them or not. Here are the biggest underdogs of Weekend 2 of Regionals.

A guy who has self-proclaimed “become very good at almost making the Games.” In the last two years Fikowski has missed qualifying for the Games by a total of 3 points. 2016 will be his 4th Regionals appearance, and he’s on track for a solid shot, finishing the Open 1st in his region (Canada West) this year. If Josh Bridges can grow out a mustache and take 1st at his Regional, maybe Fikowski’s new mustache this year will do the trick.

The former UCLA gymnast is an athlete who has always been right there and moving forward. In 2013 she took 13th at the Northern California Regionals, 5th in 2014, and 9th last year at California Regionals. This year she finished the Open 4th in her region (North West). Will this be the year it all comes together and she finds herself on the competition floor in Carson?

The youngest of the Anderson brothers is strong, skilled, and fit. With a set of events that will cater to his skills and no obvious glaring holes in his game, Coby Anderson is set to make a big splash at Regionals this year. Plus, he’s got the Bridges facial hair game on point.

Sarabeth Phillips isn’t just a badass CrossFitter, she’s a nationally ranked weightlifter who recently finished in 2nd place at the 2016 USA Weightlifting Nationals. Like Jacob Anderson, she finished Regionals last year in 9th. With another year of training and experience under her belt, SarahBeast Phillips is someone to watch!
