Until this year, Ben Smith hadn’t practiced any Regional events prior to the competition weekends. But this year, a little practice paid off with an impressive first-place finish on Event 1 with a time of 6:43.

Noah Ohlsen had a great showing as well, finishing ninth with a time of 8:52 in a strength-based event—a focus that isn't his forte.
Jeff Evans took an early lead in Event 1 with a quick 7:16 finish in heat one, but the men’s division in the Atlantic Region is stacked with current and former Games athletes who competed against that mark.
ZA Anderson and Daniel Petro made easy work of the snatches, pushing and chasing each other to impressive finishes. Petro finished in 6:58 with two quick singles at the 265-pound bar. Anderson finished at 8:04 even though he was the first to the final bar due to missing the 265-pound bar a couple of times.

Jacob Anderson, ZA’s younger brother, rested strategically to make it through the entire ladder without any misses and finish in 7:56. Smith’s younger brother Alec also paced himself wisely and finished in 9:52.
