Event 2 continued to shake things up on the leaderboard in the West.
On the women's side, it should have been no surprise that gymnast Carleen Matthews took first in the event. Going into the event, hopes were high for Courtney Walker. She's reportedly done 62 strict, free-standing handstand push-ups. Walker tried to stay with Matthews, but Matthews ultimately excelled and took off.
Tia Wright had an incredible second-place finish in Event 2, which pushed her to first place overall by the end of the day. She was close to finishing the event, but unfortunately not quite there. "It's okay, it's the sport." she can be heard saying to her judge once the time was up. Emily Abbott and Margaux Alvarez took seventh and eighth, respectively.

On the men's side, the performance of the day went to Cody Anderson. The 23-year-old competitor set a new event record with a time of 18:07.45, which broke the record set by Ryan Elrod earlier in the afternoon. Elrod's time was 18:29.02. Prior to this weekend, the record for the event was set by Tom Lengyel out of the Pacific Regional with a time of 18:30.74. Maybe it was the 'stache?
